Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!

Many of those who witnessed and partook of the wondrous miracle of the multiplication of the loaves followed Jesus and His disciples and met them across the sea. It is here that Jesus gives this instruction to seek that food which does not perish but endures to eternal life. The Jews thought immediately of the commandments of God and the good deeds that flow from them—the more good deeds accumulated would get one into this kingdom. However, our Lord draws their attention to belief in Him. He Himself, Jesus, is our food. We are to follow Him. We are to be true disciples of Jesus.

To be a true disciple of our Lord means not only that we believe that He is who He says He is, but also that our behaviours change to align with His teachings and the very life He lives with us. Belief in Jesus as our Saviour and Messiah is not at the periphery of our life, but at its core, its foundation. Let’s recall this throughout the day today as we continue to celebrate His Death and Resurrection.
