Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

Are we aware of the deeds of power Jesus did in our lives to move us to repentance? Let us find few moments today to reflect on that one particular episode when we experienced deep sorrow for how we offended God by our sin in word, thought or deed. It is pretty clear that God uses a variety of proper means and methods for the conversion and salvation of poor souls. My soul is no exception. We all need to experience the powerful love of Christ in order to grow in our relationship with Him and to develop a real thirst for heaven.

It might seem counterintuitive but thanksgiving is a proper answer to dark and disquieting thoughts and may be an effectual means to silence them. Songs of praise can help to cure melancholy. When we have no other answer ready to the suggestions of grief and fear, we may have recourse to this, “I thank you, O Father;” let us bless God that it is not worse with us than it is.
