Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!
Have you ever had this happen to you? I love Mumford & Sons. I have ever since a friend of mine introduced their music to me almost ten years ago. In one of their songs, Little Lion Man, I always thought the line went, “Weep little lion man / You’re not as brave as you were in the car.” No one could convince me it other than this until I read the actual lyric on Mumford & Sons website: “Weep little lion man / You’re not as brave as you were at the start.” Although I didn’t think that it could happen, I misheard the lyric. We have all heard things and seen things that were not there. Someone else who brought us into the truth of the matter.
We hear our Lord tell us today that if we continue in His word, abide in Him, we will have the truth—we will see things as they really are—we will see things as God sees things. We can often be slaves to the truth, see things not as they are. We are set free only in Christ Jesus.
Today is an opportunity to renew (again) our continuing in the word of the Lord. Let’s read it, let’s ruminate on it, and let’s do it. This will be the aid to perfect our perceptions and to see His mighty deeds done among us!
