I cannot count how many times a teacher or professor reminded the class that “Wikipedia is not a reputable source for your research essay.” The open-source nature of Wikipedia enables it to be edited by anyone, diminishing its reliability as giving us the entire truth on any given topic.
Jesus warns His disciples about the teaching and preaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees as their teaching lacks the fullness of truth about God and our life with Him.
In our day and age, Wikipedia is not the only source that sometimes lacks the fullness of truth. Our social media generation enables anyone to offer their own understanding of Jesus Christ in an accessible manner without care or concern about its faithfulness to the apostolic tradition.
This is the leaven that we need to beware of in our world, that we not get caught up in false truths concerning Jesus Christ. As orthodox Christians in Communion with Rome, we have a wealth of tradition that shows us who Jesus Christ is and what He has taught us to observe in our life with Him.
