Read John 6:56-69
Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!
“Master, to whom shall we go?”
How comforting it is to have and to know Jesus!
For who can understand us better, and help us more, than the One Who gives us life, the Lord Who “looks into the heart” (1 Sam 16:7).
As the psalmist David writes: “Lord…you know when I sit and stand; you understand my thoughts from afar. … with all my ways you are familiar…even before a word is on my tongue, Lord, you know it all” (Ps 139:2-4).
Throughout our lifetime here on earth, we come across many stumbling blocks, many frustrations, temptations, dangers, fears, and so on. Very similar to what various people lived through during Jesus’ time as well.
And every time people approached Jesus for help, amazing things happened: dead people were raised and hope was restored (Lk 7:11-17; Jn 11: 1-44), sick people were healed (Jn 4:43-54), hungry and thirsty were satisfied (Mt 14:13-21; Jn 4:13-15), faith was strengthened (Mk 9:23-24), and, most importantly, sins were forgiven (Mt 9:1-8).
So indeed, Simon Peter is right! To whom shall we go but to Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus Christ is the only one who will never disappoint us!
Let us, therefore, follow the Lord Jesus with humility and faith, because indeed Jesus is the Holy One of God and the giver of life.
