Proclaiming the Good News is a mission, responsibility and privilege like no other. It is an ongoing activity that, if welcomed by an individual or a whole community, brings forth eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven, by the grace of God.
It is God saying to His children through His servants, the prophets, apostles and their successors, the bishops and their clergy “come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).
We are all in need of that rest from all the burdens that we come across during this life and Jesus is telling us ‘you do not have to go through this on your own; I am here for you’. Jesus can and is willing to comfort us beyond our expectations, as long as we reach out to Him with a humble heart.
Perhaps it is time to stop resisting God’s loving care and give it a try and open our hearts to His inextinguishable fire for the purification of our soul and body.
It is time to become active members of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church that Christ has founded for our sanctification and salvation.
