34th Sunday after Pentecost; The Veneration of the Precious Chains of the Holy and Illustrious Apostle Peter
Colossians 3:12-16; Luke 18:18-27

Read Luke 18:18-27

Christ is born! Glorify Him!

People would line up in long rows and wait for hours to be able to go to Confession to St Padre Pio and St Jean-Marie Vianney. Why? Because quite often the saintly priest would be pointing out a sin to the penitent of which he or she was not aware of.

I remember many years ago a woman came to me and was sobbing unconsolably. She explained to me how she became aware (by reading some book) how serious a sin abortion was and that she had committed that sin. It was the beginning of her spiritual journey.

So it is good to pray this way: “Show me God what I need to change.”
