Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
Each of us is bombarded by hundreds of thoughts a day. Some of these thoughts are good and holy, while others, when we interact with them, will only lead us to sin.
As Christians, we are called to fight against and reject evil thoughts, turn away from the snares of the evil one, and repeatedly turn to Christ the light.
It is His light that enlivens us, and we must live our lives in such a way that the light of Christ shines in us and through us to the world.
In his 55 Maxims, Fr. Thomas Hopko reminds us, in number 13, of the importance of guarding ourselves, saying: “Do not engage intrusive thoughts or feelings.” May we guard our hearts and minds so as to be those who live by the Spirit and not by the flesh.
