Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

Just under two weeks ago, Mother Cecile Grychowsky, the last member of the Missionary Sisters of Christian Charity, reposed in the Lord. At the Parastas the evening before her burial, Fr. Peter Galadza offered a moving reflection on Mother Cecile’s life, which you can listen to in its entirety at the following link, beginning at 2:10:55 (youtube.com/watch?v=CsFxiZU6q3M). One notable point made by Fr. Peter was in reference to the various ministries Mother Cecile fulfilled throughout her life as a nun and how she would say “I don’t have the qualifications to do this.”

Frankly, Mother Cecile was not only right about herself but right about all of us: none of us have the necessary qualifications to fulfill that which the Lord has called us. All of us lack something which is needed; yet, in listening to and following the Lord’s call in our lives, He will supply what is lacking and is our sufficiency.

The Lord calls us to follow Him in many ways in our lives, to do His work here on earth. We can pursue a variety of studies and serve in numerous capacities; and yet, all our human power will be insufficient, whether it be in ministry or in obtaining salvation. We must always place our trust in God and utterly depend on Him throughout our lives so that He may supply what is lacking within us for us to do His work in this world.
