Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

One common question that Jesus asked those who approached Him looking for help is whether they believe that He can help them (Mt 9:28; Jn 11:40; Mk 9:23; Mk 10:52; Lk 8:50).

The woman with the haemorrhage simply decided to sneak up to Jesus with the firm belief that if only she touches Jesus’ cloak, she will be healed.

And indeed she was healed because of her tremendous faith, and of course because of God’s mercy and love.

It is important to point out that it took her a while to come to Jesus. It sounds like Jesus was her last resort, because nothing else worked until then. Even so, our Lord Jesus, being a patient God, showed His mercy and love towards her.

One may say “how foolish of her; she should have come to Jesus way before then”. Yes, she should have. And so should we, because we also do not come to Jesus first and foremost all the time, but have the tendency to rely on something or someone else first.

More than that, we probably know more about Jesus than this woman knew at the time, and we still live a good portion of this life without consulting with Jesus; without working with Him, that His will may be done.

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us not delay our encounter with Jesus, but instead hasten to Him, Who never delays to come to our aid, Christ the Lord.
