Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
It is hard to believe that Great Lent is over today and that we are about the begin the Holy Week Fast. On this last day of Great Lent after all our struggle, fasting, repentance and striving to do good works we are reminded by Isaiah that all this was done for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven and for the glory of God. This is what brings us that joy in our ascetical practices. When you fast, pray, keep vigil, repent and do good works for the sake of the Kingdom—that is the Jerusalem on high—then joy will fill your heart. Then you will be consoled, satisfied and drink deeply. Now that we have oriented our life back towards the Kingdom let us follow our Lord during Holy Week in his passion, death and the joy of the resurrection. Blessed Holy Week.
