Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory for ever!
How often do we complain that it is difficult to come to know the living God? St. Paul reminds us that we overcomplicate things. God does want to be known and is present in all His creation. How often are we deeply moved by the beauty of creation? An amazing sunset, a mountain view, or the stars lit up at night? Not just in nature, but also in our relationships and experiences in life all point to the closeness of God in our midst. We have a deep longing to show gratitude for the gift of life and God’s continual showering of grace in our life. The amazing thing is that as we pay attention to God’s presence and works in our life we see them more clearly, but St. Paul reminds us that seeing is not enough. We need to take the next step of engagement, which is ‘Praise and Thanksgiving’. This is how we respond to the living God and how His Grace and Blessings are multiplied in our life. Just like a parent who brings a gift for their child is moved to be more generous when the child responds positively with thanksgiving and praise, so too does God when we respond positively and with love. Take time today to seek after God and His active presence in your life. Don’t forget to give thanks and praise for God’s presence and generosity.
