Read 1 Corinthians 2:9-3:8
When was the last time I took a moment in my day to think about the grander of what God has prepared for those who love Him? We worry a lot about our home here on earth. What it will look like. How to organize it. How to decorate it. The state of the foundation, roof and major appliances. These are all important questions, but too often we spend more time and effort on perishable things. Imagine if we spent only a fraction of our week thinking about our eternal home in the Kingdom. We should ask important questions such as: how do I arrive there? How do I prepare myself to receive this great gift —to enter into this home? What will it be like? Who will be there? Who is preparing this beautiful place for me? The more I contemplate these questions the more I realize what truly matters and where I belong. We remember that we are pilgrims on this earth and that nothing here is permanent—it is like sand that sifts through the fingers. May the Holy Spirit help us to understand that what awaits us is not only beautiful, but permanent and eternal.
