Read Genesis 5:32-6:8

One of the main themes that exists in this passage is the comparison between the sinful world and the man of God. God expresses lament at the state that the world was in. Evil was so entrenched that the holiness of God could no longer tolerate sinful humanity to the point that the death of all living creatures was to be the end result, with the exception of one man, Noah. It is in Noah that we see the advent of the man of God. It is this man of God who will bring about the restoration of the fallen world. Jesus Christ is the true man of God, for it is through Him that the world is restored and sin and death are destroyed. Thus, Noah can be seen as a prefiguration of Jesus Christ, for just as God spared humanity through one just man, Noah, so too will God save the entire human race through one just man, Jesus Christ.
