Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
St. Paul gives us in our reading several important reminders regarding how following Christ changes the way we behave. In our world of continual change and confusion over things taken for granted by previous generations, the changelessness of Christ is an important truth to remind ourselves of, even daily.
The beliefs we hold must change what we do. In other words, a faith that can’t be seen in action isn’t actually faith at all. Recognizing Christ’s unchanging Lordship and Divinity means visiting prisoners, being faithful in marriages, and not being attached to money. All the charitable actions we take on as Christians flow from this relationship. We know the love of the Great Lover- Christ.
After our journey through the Fast and our arrival tomorrow with Christ at Jerusalem, let us hold to the changelessness of the Christ, conforming ourselves to Him.
