Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

The Lord gives us today a spiritual principle of the importance of regular gathering with Him. For this he has come: to unite all people and creation in him to the Father. He is the very source of unity that Adam and Eve had enjoyed before the fall. Without him we begin to scatter into a lonely existence distant from God, each other, creation and even to ourselves. Notice that when we spend time with the Lord—whether in prayer, the reception of the sacraments, acts of charity done in his name, or any moments of grace in our lives— we feel more real, more integrated into reality and more human. Life in Christ is life with God, which is a life of genuine humanity. Life as it was meant to be from the very beginning of creation. The more we abide in Christ the more we become ourselves. The opposite is true too: the more we resist Christ the more we resist what we were created to be and sadly we begin to scatter and disintegrate. Take a moment today to thank God for the gift of His Son in our life; for showing us, guiding us and transforming us by His love, so that we can become truly human.
