Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

In the much beloved children’s book “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” four siblings discover the magical world of Narnia, a world oppressed by an evil witch who makes it always winter and never Christmas. A war was fought to try to overcome her generations ago, but the rightful citizens of the county lost.

However, unannounced, but not unexpected by those who knew the prophesies, the rightful ruler of the world, Aslan, arrives and with his arrival the snow melts and spring returns. Simply his presence in Narnia reveals and reverses the lie of the witch’s magic.

The Kingdom of God grows in a similar fashion. The sower does not see the growth of the tiny mustard seed and yet it becomes massive. Leaven works on the wheat in a mysterious and unseen way and produces loaves orders of magnitude larger than the microscopic organisms doing the real work. In other words, the Lord is responsible for the growth, and we may not notice or understand His work. We are required to participate through our struggles, but the victory is always His, not ours.

Let us prepare to welcome the Leaven of the World, secretly born in a cave, and trust Him with the growth of His Kingdom.
