Let us focus on the idea of giving back to God what belongs to God, namely His image. We as human beings bear the image of God and as such we are expected to honor God by giving our obedience to His Commandments. Sometimes there are moments in life where following the laws and customs of society go against the Laws of God. In these situations we have to discern carefully which laws to follow. The Law of God says to keep the Sabbath day holy, meaning Sunday. We live in a society where Sunday has simply become a day like any other day, where shopping and working have become standard practice. As Christians how are we to observe the Sabbath? Have we become desensitized to the idea of having to be faithful to the Ten Commandments? For example, do we shop and work unnecessarily on Sundays and if so, have we tried to justify our reasons for doing so, instead of admitting our sin to the Lord and repenting. If we truly want to belong to God than we have to be willing to be faithful to the Laws that He has given to us and turn away from the ways in which the world has departed from the ways of God.
