Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!

Chit-chat. It’s becoming a rare thing. Busses and trains have become much quieter—everyone is tuned-in to their phones. More and more retailers are promoting the self-serve cashier option. Starbucks allows you to order a latte on your phone and you can pick it up without saying a word to anyone. Uber has introduced a quiet-mode—the driver won’t talk to you. Yet studies show that we are happier when we have chit-chat, we are happier and feel more fulfilled in our relationships.

Our Lord Jesus states that the He and the Father are one. There is constant communication in their relationship. This is how the Son always knows what the will of the Father is. And the Son speaks to us, His flock, and we hear His voice (and He hears us). This is why and how we follow Him. We listen.

Let’s check hearing abilities today. Am I listening for the voice of the Lord in my life? Have I stopped talking to Him? Have I laid chit-chat with Him aside? Has someone or something snatched me out of His hand? He is the Good Shepherd—He knows each of us and all of us. His desire is to know Him!
