Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
Do you know what a “wallflower” is? I’m not sure if schools continue with the tradition of social dances today, but a wallflower was someone who was too nervous to cross the room to dance with a person of the opposite sex, or “enter the dance” within a larger group dance. These people would remain on the “sidelines” of the hall or gym during this festive occasion.
Having just celebrated the Ascension, we recall the disciples staring idly into heaven when two angels encourage them to “get moving!” It’s not that they will remember Jesus, or even wait joyful (and idly) for His return, but that they will, as we read in our reading today, “do what He did, and even greater things!” They will not be wallflowers but will enter the dance of apostleship and evangelization!
Today, take a moment today to ask yourself where you are still hesitant in your discipleship and evangelization, then pray to the Lord to strengthen you to enter the dance in a deeper way!
