Read Luke 7:31-35

Are we listening to Jesus’ messages and messengers today? At the time when Jesus and John the Baptist walked this earth there was a fair amount of people who strongly opposed their message. In fact, both of them were put to death as young men who preached an unpopular message. Today, we are also witnessing the same thing happening to those who also teach a truth that is based on objective truths that are derived from the Ten Commandments. These teachings that come from God have a timeless and unchangeable character to them. For example, the commandment “Thou shalt not kill” is meant for all peoples and all generations. When we witness people promoting laws that allow for the killing of human beings in certain situations are we not witnessing a distorting of the Commandments of God? Is it not also the case that we are witnessing the persecution of people who try to uphold these values and principles even to the point of wanting to put them to death for saying such things? As we continue to observe the happenings in the world around us, let us pray that we will be able to discern and follow the true messengers of God and of His eternal truths.
