Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
“All things have been delivered to me by my Father”
Today’s short gospel passage shows us the intimate relationship between God the Father and Jesus Christ, incarnate Son of God, and therefore between God and all of His creation.
Up until the coming of the Messiah, all the prophets related a certain message from God to the people. Whether it was Moses, or Isaiah, or Jeremiah, or any other prophet. Each of them delivered a certain message from God for a certain time, to the people. However, not everything at once was fully revealed to any of them up until Jesus Christ.
God the Father entrusted everything, all things visible and invisible, to His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. All authority “in heaven and on earth” (Mt 28:18) has been given to Jesus.
Jesus not only delivers a message of salvation, but far more than that, He is that Message. He is the way. Jesus, through His incarnation, death and resurrection from the dead, restores that fallen state of mankind. Rebuilds an incorruptible bond between mankind and God, Creator of all things visible and invisible.
Jesus Christ does not only claim to be the way to the Father, but also personally leads us, walks with us, suffers and rejoices with us, on that narrow path that leads to salvation.
