Read Acts 3:19-26
Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!
The Lord calls us to greatness. The Lord calls us to virtue. The Lord calls us to holiness. And by us, I mean all of us, all of you. Not just the clergy and the monks, but every person who has been baptized.
Therefore, repent and be converted! Wherever you are on your walk with the Lord, there is always more space in your heart and your life for the Risen Lord. In whatever ways you sin or struggle with vice, turn around. Turn back to the Lord in those places. Pledge yourself back to the Lord and confess your sins.
Do this again and again and as many times as needed. And you will certainly be refreshed by the Lord’s presence.
If your prayer is lacking, strive to improve. I always like to suggest that people make a plan for their prayer and do their best to keep to their plan. If you’re not in the practice of a regular prayer routine, or rule, this can be a bit daunting. So start small. We want quality before quantity. Two or three minutes of sitting quietly before your icons is far more valuable than reciting the rosary if your heart is not there. Praying one section of an Akathist with reverence and devotion is better than praying the entire thing with a busy heart and a racing mind.
Do this again and again and as many times as needed. And you will certainly be refreshed by the Lord’s presence.
If things aren’t working, you always can revisit and reevaluate later.
And remember, you are chosen by the Risen Lord to be a part of His People, His Flock. And He calls you to greatness, virtue, and holiness.
